Hidden Figures

YWLA students attended a screening of the blockbuster movie, Hidden Figures, an incredible story about three African-American women, Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, who have been credited with getting John Glenn into space in 1962.

These women literally ‘did the math’ that helped win the space race. They “crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big.”

Congressman Mark Veasey introduced the film and participated in a Q&A with the audience.

Special thanks to former Foundation Board Member Tiesa Leggett for coordinating the showing.
