Support our YWLA alumni with a care package!

Remember that feeling when you received care packages in college? Remember how excited you were to see what was in the box?

Help give that feeling to another college student by donating items to the YWLA Alumni Care Package campaign!

The Annual Care Package Campaign is meant to support our college students as they embark on this important journey of their academic and career paths. College students are often operating with limited budgets, so providing these care packages allows the students to get a little piece of home while receiving some much needed essentials. This year, we will be sending care packages to 66 freshman and sophomore YWLA students across the country.

Our wish list includes:
Stamps • Ramen Noodles • Laundry Detergent • Snacks • Notebooks

GEMS attend Congresswoman Kay Granger’s Women’s Summit

GEMS attend Congresswoman Kay Granger's Women's SummitCongresswoman Kay Granger’s Women’s Summit Luncheon was held Monday, October 16 at the Cendera Center in Fort Worth. This year’s summit featured Congresswoman Granger and women leaders in national defense and global manufacturing. The Summit was attended by influential women from local, state, and national levels — and nine girls from YWLA!

YWLA GEMS in attendance included Emily Morales, Jennifer Macias, Christina Lara, Eunice Cardona, Tyrionna Williams, Paige Green, Amaya Green, Emily Leschber, and Hallie Spradlin.

The girls met and had their picture taken with Congresswoman Granger, and she introduced the girls as the nation’s next leaders. They were able to stand and be recognized by the crowd. The girls heard these influential women discuss many topics, including their career accomplishments, how to be an effective leader, and what characteristics are most important to success.

Check out the Class of 2017’s Senior Signing Day Video!

YWLA believes every girl can graduate from high school, attend, and graduate from college. And, we recognized that achievement during our annual Senior Signing Day on May 15th, 2017. This is an exciting day celebrating the achievements of YWLA’s Class of 2017 as they revealed where they would be attending college.

All 35 graduates were accepted to one or more four-year colleges/universities and received more than $6 million in merit scholarships and grants.

Make plans to attend the 2018 Senior Signing Day this May hosted by the Foundation for the Young Women’s Leadership Academy of Fort Worth!
